Size Guide & How to Measure
Finding your perfect fit
Choosing a gown you can’t try on first can feel daunting — so we’ve made it simple. With three key measurements and the size details listed on each gown, you can order with confidence. And because every Luzilly gown is special, custom sizing is available on most styles.
How to measure
You’ll need a soft measuring tape, a mirror, and ideally a friend to help. Measure over the undergarments you plan to wear on the day, stand naturally, and keep the tape level and snug — never tight.
Bust
Measure around the fullest part of your bust, keeping the tape level across your back.
Waist
Measure around the narrowest part of your natural waistline — usually just above the belly button.
Hips
Stand with your feet together and measure around the fullest part of your hips.
Hollow to floor (for length)
Standing straight in the shoes you’ll wear on the day, measure from the hollow at the base of your throat straight down to the floor.
Size chart
The chart below is a general guide in inches. Bridal styles often run smaller than everyday clothing, so always compare your measurements to the size details shown on the individual gown before ordering.
| Size | Bust (in) | Waist (in) | Hips (in) |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | 32.5 | 24.5 | 35.5 |
| 4 | 33.5 | 25.5 | 36.5 |
| 6 | 34.5 | 26.5 | 37.5 |
| 8 | 35.5 | 27.5 | 38.5 |
| 10 | 36.5 | 28.5 | 39.5 |
| 12 | 38.0 | 30.0 | 41.0 |
| 14 | 39.5 | 31.5 | 42.5 |
| 16 | 41.0 | 33.0 | 44.0 |
| 18 | 43.0 | 35.0 | 46.0 |
| 20 | 45.0 | 37.0 | 48.0 |
| 22 | 47.0 | 39.0 | 50.0 |
| 24 | 49.0 | 41.0 | 52.0 |
Between two sizes? Order the larger size — it’s far easier for a tailor to take a gown in than to let it out. If your measurements span different sizes (say, a size 8 bust and a size 12 hip), custom sizing is the perfect solution.
Custom sizing
Most Luzilly gowns can be made closer to your measurements. Where it’s offered, choose the custom-size option on the product page, or reach out through our Contact page with your bust, waist, hips, and hollow-to-floor measurements and we’ll guide you. Custom gowns are made especially for you, so please allow a little extra time before your event.
Tips for an accurate measurement
- Wear the undergarments (and bra) you plan to wear on your wedding day.
- Use a soft cloth measuring tape, not a metal one.
- Keep the tape level and comfortably snug — you should be able to slip a finger underneath.
- Ask a friend to measure you for the most accurate results.
- Don’t round down — if in doubt, take the larger measurement.
- Measure twice to be sure.
